About Me:
I am passionate about working with people to improve their lives. I am a huge believer that a good connection is the foundation of good therapy. I currently work at a Level 1 Trauma Center as an Emergency Department Crisis Social Worker. I am inspired every day to help patients and their families cope with traumatic injuries and mental health crises. I do have extensive experience in the areas of depression, anxiety, work stress, addiction & chronic pain. I have also worked in a variety of mental health settings (outpatient, community based, in-home services and residential treatment programs). I am trained in different evidence based practices (e.g. The Daring Way / Emotional Resiliency Theory, Strength-Based, Solution-Focused Techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, CBT, Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness) to tailor my interventions for every person’s unique circumstances.
I am here to help and offer you hope! You do not need to be alone anymore with your struggle. Many times anxiety and depression make us feel disconnected from our loved ones, our work, our passions and our true selves. I know that juggling relationships, family and careers can create many challenges. This is normal and can easily happen to any one of us. It is my job to help reconnect you to what motivates you to get up in the morning. Working collaboratively, we will work with your strengths to build your best life.
One of my personal struggles has involved over a decade of chronic pain. As a result, I have a first hand understanding of how this profoundly impacts our life, our mood, our anxiety and our relationships. Chronic pain is so much more than just physical suffering. I know chronic pain is real. I have lived it and I have found techniques and solutions that can improve your life.
